October's Genre Spread

If you're going
to get lei'd
It's important
to have a ball
By all means,
do get wet
But whatever you do,
and however you
do it, never ever forget
your rubbers!

This is my latest work and the work I am most proud of. You can get a copy of the OCTOBER ISSUE OF GENRE and read the editorial, for it explains what I am up to next. I am thinking about all I have accomplished and what I have stood for to so many people, but I am having reservations about how I am perceived.

Yes, I am HIV positive for 13+ years and not progressing. I have shown the world you can live a healthy life and go for your dreams. That you do not have to lay down and die or be embarrased with a positive test result. However, it is NO CAKE WALK. They do have new methods coming out all the time to monitor this disease and your quality of life. My goal this next coming year is STRESS PREVENTION, for no one deserves to go through this game of AIDS. I take 23 pills a day, I am fatigued at times, have headaches, get nauseated, and stress a lot. Just because I have lived this long with it and have taken care of myself physically does not mean that it is easy.

Please for your sake and for that of others ALWAYS practise safe sex, as shown in this layout. I pray for a cure everyday, for on that day we all will be free......

There are many ways to make a difference in the battle against HIV and AIDS. You can help by making a donation or by volunteering your time. Donations should be made to Open Your Heart. The address can be found on the Open Your Heart homepage, or you can help by purchasing the1997 AIDS Benefit Calendar by Jeff Palmer which I donated my time to. If you place your order before October 21st, you can receive an 8x10 print of none other then myself valued at $45. The number is 1-(619)-744-8360. Tell them Thom Collins sent you! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
